ARTIST
SCULPTURES & MIXED MEDIA
I went back to college as a painting major but soon discovered that I had to get my hands into the work...literally. I switched to sculpture. My father was a Jr.High metal shop teacher which led me to metal sculpting while my mother made braided wool rugs and then pine needle baskets. At one point in grad school I added fiber to a metal piece and sparks flew! A visiting artist directed me to rabbit skin glue which is what I use to stiffen the knitting. Recently I took an online class on altered dolls. More sparks flying all over the place!

Randall
14"x14"x13", found objects and air dry clay, 2021. Randall was the first in the Altered doll series. He told me he needed wings since he is actually an angel. He tried flying 3 times off the table so he got wings and a lily pad to stand on.
